Eagle Release

A couple of weeks ago a Bald Eagle was caught by its foot in a beaver trap.  Fortunately it was rescued by a nearby land owner before it drowned.  It was sent to Wild and Free rehab organization to see if it needed to go to the raptor center in Minneapolis.  It was determined that its only injury was a puncture in one of its toes so Dr. Deb fixed it up and started it on antibiotics just in case.  Today it was scheduled to be released back into the wild so Becky and I drove over to the Garrison Animal Hospital and picked it up.  We had made arrangements with the man who rescued it, a Conservation Officer, and a photographer from our local newspaper to meet us and travel together to the release area which was at the end of the land owners driveway.
